For Looking at the Women in the Museum, I’d like to take the research that I’ve been doing for my book, Looking at the Woman in a Bomb Blast, and apply it to a new piece of performance in the context of some works in the Konstmuseum. I’ll purchase approximately 15 tickets for the museum and advertise a talk in the Furstenberg Galleries. During this I’ll explore, and inhabit, the gestures of a number of women shown in paintings and sculptures in the collection, ending with Hasselberg’s Näckrosen. This work was completed after Hasselberg died; the model, Signe Larsson, bore Hasselberg’s child. I’ll also produce a small pamphlet to accompany the event.
